New Caledonia: Coral Sea Nature Park formally adopted

The World’s largest Marine Protected Area has been created in French New Caledonia. First announced in August 2012, the strategic analysis has been finally concluded and led to the formal adoption of a marine protected area covering nearly 1.3 million square kilometers.
