UNGA: 69th Session debates Sustainable Development Goals

The 69th United Nations General Assembly convened on the 16th September 2014, with the General Debate being held 24-30th September 2014 (UN Coverage). The opening of the General Debate on the 24th September marked the beginning of the intergovernmental negotiations on the future Sustainable Development Goals – which will expand on their predecessor: the Millennium Development Goals. The basis for negotiations, the UN Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals Outcome Document, currently includes:

Goal 14. Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
